ARTIST BIO
Mindy Magyar is currently studying Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in New York City. She finds joy in designing products as a means to explore and provoke contemporary society. Mindy loves life and aspires to share with others her appreciation of even the most mundane actions through her products. She is particularly interested in making playful products out of ordinary objects as witty design can cause somebody to enjoy an activity that they might otherwise have taken for granted. Whether a pair of sandals, a table, or a toilet paper dispenser, Mindy hopes that her products make people smile.
Prior to discovering her passion for design, Mindy established herself on Wall Street while working for J.P. Morgan and BNP Paribas. Her unconventional career path has proven invaluable in designing, as she constantly draw upon the business acumen and client awareness that she acquired in the financial services industry as well as the analytical skills that developed in engineering school during her creative processes. By pursuing industrial design she has aligned her skills with her passion and conviction. Mindy's unique mix of experience in design, business and engineering provides her with the insight to create intelligent and practical designs.
Mindy attended Cornell University for her undergraduate studies, receiving a degree in Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering, with a minor in American Indian Studies.
